Gary Lineker was spotted on Brighton Pier yesterday as he filmed a new Walkers Crips advert.

The advert featiures a scene whereby a man in a fish costume is being hung from the side of famous Brighon Pier.

The advert is rumoured to have been part of the “Do us a flavour” competition in which Walkers consumers where encouraged to think of new flavour ideas and send them in.

Walkers are to reveal the final 6 flavours early 2009 and it is beleived that “Fish and Chips” is one of the finalists and this is what was thought to being filmed on the historic Brighton Pier.

A tipper truck was responsible yesterday for damage to the Grand Pier at Weston Super Mare. The driver was working on the seawall and accidently reversed whilst the tipping part of the truck was in the upright position.

Despite the damage the pier strucutre as a whole has been deemed safe and thus remains open to the public.
